What is Self Storage?

We rent secure storage rooms for business and personal use. You have control over what is stored in your unit. Safeguard Storage provides you with a high quality barrel-key lock for the duration of your store. You may add an additional lock of your choice. Some of the very best locks (and other Storage Supplies) are sold in our office, or even available in our 24 hour vending machine! Always use high-quality locks on your unit. 
As a renter, your rights are protected through a rental agreement.

Who rents self storage?

Business clients include professional services; retail businesses and contractors.
Our individual users include household goods; automobile or motorcycle owners storing their vehicles over the winter months; students needing storage for the summer and apartment dwellers or homeowners needing extra space for seasonal items.

How do I rent a storage unit?

Contact Safeguard Storage today!  We will provide you with current unit availability. You then review the rental agreement. Your first month's rent and security deposit are required when the rental agreement is signed. A government issued photo ID is required.

What size storage units do you have?

We rent a wide variety of storage unit sizes. Let us know what you need to store and we will recommend the appropriate size rental unit. Review Safeguard's Unit Size page for more information.

How much does storage costs?

The monthly rental rates for our storage units depend on the size needed and if its climate controlled.

When and how do I make payments?XXX

Your rent must always be paid prior to the beginning of the storage period. You can pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or yearly.

Are my items insured?

We do not provide insurance for the items in your storage unit. However, your homeowners or renters insurance may cover self storage. Please check your insurance policy, or call your insurance agent.

Are the storage units dry?

Yes. We've taken extra precautions to keep your items dry. Each building is designed to move rain and surface water away from the storage units. Storage unit floors are specifically engineered to prevent water from entering under the storage unit doors.

How long can I stay – or do I have to stay?

There is no maximum rental period. The minimum rental period is one month. Our rental agreement is based on a month to month period. We require only a 10-day termination notice prior to the end of the month.

Do you go into a building to access my storage unit?

All our non-climate-controlled storage units are accessible without going into a building with immediate drive-up access! Handcarts are provided free of charge, and are accessible 24 hours a day.
The majority of our climate-controlled units are accessed from spacious interior hallways. We even have an ADA-accessible restroom available!

Can I change to a different size storage unit?

Yes. If your needs change, we'll make every effort to facilitate your move to a different sized unit.

Are there any items that I cannot store?

Yes. You can not store food, perishable items, flammables, explosives, hazardous wastes, etc. Our lease describes these restrictions in more detail. Please Contact Us if you have questions on storage of a particular item.
